Time Fades Away

Fourteen junkies too weak to work
One sells diamonds for what they're worth
Down on pain street, disappointment lurks
Son, don't be home too late.
Try to get back by eight
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
Time fades away
You know how time fades away.

All day presidents look out windows
All night sentries watch the moonglow
All are waiting till the time is right
Son, don't be home too late
Try to get back by eight
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
Time fades away
You know how time fades away.

Back in Canada I spent my days
Riding subways through a haze
I was handcuffed, I was born & raised
Son, don't be home too late
Try to get back by eight
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
Time fades away
You know how time fades away.

Thirteen junkies too weak to work
One sells diamonds for what they're worth
Down on pain street disappointment lurks.
Son, don't be home too late
Try to get back by eight, eight
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
Time fades away
You know how time fades away.

Time fades away
You know how time fades away

simpleposie question for the day #5036A

simpleposie wants to know:

What does contemporary art risk when faced with "the awe inspiring popularity of web monoliths like You Tube"? How does "the contemporary" become "nothing more than a quaint relic"?

simpleposie question for the day #5033A

simpleposie wants to know:

Do you agree that "Cultivating excellence would seem to be something we would all strive toward, yet in contemporary life, it appears to be becoming less common."? Do you think that excellent table service is analogous to excellent art?

simpleposie question for the day #5032A

simpleposie wants to know:

Would you say "In Toronto, audiences routinely give a standing ovation, which eliminates the distinction between an average and an excellent show."?

simpleposie question for the day #5031A

simpleposie wants to know:

Have you ever sighed aloud and wondered, "As an art critic, I tire of the constant adulation for every creative effort that Toronto artists put out; much of it is mediocre by international standards. On the other hand, by local standards, it might be respectable. The question is, by which standards do we want to be measured?"

simpleposie question for the day #5030A

simpleposie wants to know:

What do you think of this tidbit:

Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, with half its inhabitants now foreign-born. To a much greater degree than London or New York, the city's immigrants are allowed to retain their cultural habits. Perhaps this cultural diversity makes Torontonians especially tolerant of other cultures and their habits. Perhaps, also, this tolerance has seeped into Toronto's social fabric and municipal life so that acceptance of others has led to tolerance of all things ?

Is the suggestion that "acceptance of others" = "tolerance of all things"? And how would that impede a "search for excellence"?
